Mission Trips are opportunities to visit the areas where are Global Outreach partners are working. We have designed our trips to extend the support of our Global Outreach Partners beyond financial support. These trips are typically taken once or twice a year and range from 8 to 13 days depending on destination. About Kandaria and Katito
The communities of Katito and Kandaria are located on the edge of the Great Rift Valley overlooking Lake Victoria in the Nyanza province of western Kenya.
Typical houses are constructed of dirt floors, mud walls and 10 roofs the primary ethnic group is Luo and the most commonly spoken language is Dholuo.
The regional diet consists of beans, maze, rice, kale and Galli. Common health problems in this area include waterborne diseases, malaria, and HIV/AIDS. Most adults work as farmers or craftsman. The communities have no running water, telephone service or electricity in most homes. Both communities do have access to medical care.
