In 2003, James Juma Opiyo, lost his wife to an illness. As a single father trying to care for his 4 children, James struggled to find work. At the age of 67, he is an ailing widower, who tends small garden outside of his small mud home for food. His home is crumbling and won't last much longer.

This past summer, on our Grace In Kenya Mission Trip, Jake Stebbins, a high school senior, met James for the first time. Jake saw James's need for a new home and decided to take on building James a new home as his graduation project. Jake is organizing a 5K run/walk called Home Run for Kenya to raise money to build a home for James.
